SafeNet Trusted Access for ManageEngine Password Manager Pro

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for ManageEngine Password Manager Pro is a three-step process:

1.ManageEngine Password Manager Pro setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify Authentication

ManageEngine Password Manager Pro Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider metadata from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking on the Download metadata file button.

You will need this metadata in one of the steps below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in ManageEngine Password Manager Pro:

1.Log in to the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro administrator dashboard using the https://<Host Name or IP Address>:7272 URL, where, <Host Name or IP Address> is the host name or IP address of the machine on which ManageEngine Password Manager Pro is installed.

2.On the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro admininistrator dashboard, click the Admin tab.

3.In the right pane, under Authentication, click SAML Single Sign On.

4.On the Configuration For Single Sign-On Using SAML window, perform the following steps:

a.Under Service Provider Details, click on the metadata.xml link to download the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro metadata, and then save it on your local machine.

b.Under Configure Identity Provider Details, ensure that the Upload Idp metadata file option is selected, click Browse to search and select the metadata file that you downloaded earlier from the SafeNet Trusted Access console and click Upload.

c.Under Enable / Disable SAML Single Sign On, click Enable Now. The Current status will be changed to Enabled.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in ManageEngine Password Manager Pro, the second step is to activate the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, ManageEngine Password Manager Pro) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, click Upload ManageEngine Password Manager Pro Metadata.

3.On the Metadata upload window, click Browse to search and select the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro metadata that you downloaded earlier in step 4(a) of ManageEngine Password Manager Pro Setup.

Under Account Details, the service provider metadata information is displayed.

4.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro administrator dashboard using the https://<Host Name or IP Address>:7272 URL, where, <Host Name or IP Address> is the host name or IP address of the machine on which ManageEngine Password Manager Pro is installed. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro user account after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro application icon, you should be redirected to the ManageEngine Password Manager Pro user account after authentication.
