SafeNet Trusted Access for Freshservice

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Freshservice is a three-step process:

1.Freshservice setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

Freshservice Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider signing certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this certificate in one of the steps given below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in Freshservice:

1.Log in to the Freshservice agent portal as an administrator using the https://<subdomain>.freshservice.com/support/login URL.

For example, https://safenet.freshservice.com/support/login

2.On the Freshservice dashboard, on the bottom left-hand side corner, click the Admin icon .

3.In the right-pane, under General Settings, click the Helpdesk Security tile.

4.Under Security, perform the following steps:

a.Turn on the Single Sign On toggle.

b.Select the SAML SSO option.

c.In the SAML Login URL field, enter the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE URL that is available on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

You can copy this URL by clicking the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE field.

d.Convert the identity provider certificate (that you downloaded earlier from the STA console) to a certificate fingerprint and copy it.

Note:  You can use a certificate conversion tool to convert the IdP certificate to the certificate fingerprint.

e.In the Security Certificate Fingerprint field, paste the certificate fingerprint.

f.Click Save.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Freshservice, the second step is to activate the Freshservice application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the Freshservice application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Freshservice) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, under Account Details, in the SUBDOMAIN field, enter the subdomain that is registered with Freshservice.

3.Under User Login ID Mapping, in the NAME ID field, ensure that the Email address is selected.

4.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Freshservice application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the Freshservice login URL, https://<subdomain>.freshservice.com, and click SIGN IN. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Freshservice application after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the Freshservice application icon, you should be redirected to the Freshservice application after authentication.
