SafeNet Trusted Access for Evernote

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Evernote is a three-step process:

1.Evernote setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify Authentication

Evernote Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking on the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this certificate in one of the steps below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in Evernote:

1.Login to Evernote as an administrator using the https://www.evernote.com/Login.action URL.

2.On the Evernote dashboard, in the left pane, at the bottom, click on the ADMIN CONSOLE icon to open the administrator console.

3.The administrator console will be opened in a new tab. On the administrator console, in the left pane, at the bottom, under SECURITY, click Single Sign-On.

4.In the right pane, under Authentication, perform the following steps:

a.In the SAML HTTP Request URL field, enter the SingleSignOnService URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

You can copy this URL by clicking on the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SingleSignOnService field.

b.Open the Identity Provider signing certificate that you download earlier from the SafeNet Trusted Access console in Notepad, and then copy the entire text.

c.In the X.509 Certificate field, paste the text of the Identity Provider signing certificate that you copied in the previous step.

d.Click Save & Enable to save the configuration.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Evernote, the second step is to activate the Evernote application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the Evernote application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Evernote) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Evernote application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the Evernote login URL, https://www.evernote.com/Login.action, enter your email address and password, and then click Sign in. You should be redirected to the complete steps to access business content window, click Proceed. The SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page will be opened in a new tab to complete the sign-on process. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Evernote support portal after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the Evernote application icon, you should be redirected to the Evernote support portal after authentication.
