SafeNet Trusted Access for Dropbox

Overview

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Dropbox is a three-step process:

1.Dropbox setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify Authentication

Dropbox Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider Signing Certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking on the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this certificate in one of the steps below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your identity provider in Dropbox:

1.Log in to Dropbox as an administrator using the Dropbox login URL (for example, https://www.dropbox.com/login).

2.On the Dropbox console, in the left pane, click the Admin console > Settings.

3.In the right pane, under Authentication, click Single sign-on.

4.Under Single sign-on, perform the following steps:

a.Under Single sign-On, in the drop drown list, select Required.

b.Under Identity provider sign-in URL, click Add sign-in URL.

c. On the Add identity provider sign-in URL window, enter the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console and click Done.

On the SafeNet Trusted Access console, you can copy this URL by clicking on the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE field.

d.Under X.509 Certificate, click Upload certificate to search and select the Identity Provider Signing Certificate that you downloaded earlier from the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

e.Click Apply changes.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Dropbox, the second step is to activate the Dropbox application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, you will notice that the Dropbox application that you added previously is currently in inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Dropbox) and proceed to the next step.

2.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Dropbox application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

On the Dropbox console, under Single sign-on, under SSO sign-in URL, click on Copy link to copy the SSO Sign in URL. Refer to the screen shot given in step 4 of Dropbox Setup.

Navigate to the SSO Sign in URL. You will be redirected to the SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Dropbox support portal after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click on the Dropbox application icon, you should be redirected to the Dropbox support portal after authentication.
