SafeNet Trusted Access for Automic Continuous Delivery Director

Overview

The application template provides the ability to enable single sign-on for users accessing the Automic Continuous Delivery Director application through SafeNet Trusted Access.

SP-initiated SSO can be configured for Automic Continuous Delivery Director.

Configuring SafeNet Trusted Access for Automic Continuous Delivery Director is a three-step process:

1.Automic Continuous Delivery Director setup

2.SafeNet Trusted Access setup

3.Verify authentication

Automic Continuous Delivery Director Setup

As a prerequisite, download the Identity Provider signing certificate from the SafeNet Trusted Access console by clicking the Download X.509 certificate button. You will need this certificate in one of the steps below.

Perform the following steps to configure SafeNet Trusted Access as your Identity Provider in Automic Continuous Delivery Director:

1.Log in to Automic Continuous Delivery Director as an administrator using the https://cddirector.io/cdd/sign-in.jsp URL.

2.On the Automic Continuous Delivery Director dashboard, click Administration > SAML Configuration.

3.Under SAML CONFIGURATION, perform the following steps:

a.Select the Enable SAML checkbox.

b.In the Identity Provider Domain field, enter the domain name (for example, safenet.com) that you want to get verified by Automic Continuous Delivery Director. .

c.In the Identity Provider Login URL field, enter the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE URL that is available on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

You can copy this URL by clicking the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the SINGLESIGNONSERVICE field.

d.In the Identity Provider Issuer field, enter the ISSUER/ENTITY ID URL that is provided on the SafeNet Trusted Access console.

You can copy this URL by clicking the Copy to Clipboard icon available next to the ISSUER/ENTITY ID field.

e.In a text editor, open the IdP certificate that you downloaded earlier from the SafeNet Trusted Access console and copy the entire text.

f.In the Identity Provider Certificate field, paste the entire text that you copied in the previous step.

g.Click Generate Verification Code. A verification code is available as provided by Automic Continuous Delivery Director. Copy the verification code and paste it as a TXT record in your DNS (Domain Name System).

h.Click Verify. After the domain name is verified by Automic Continuous Delivery Director, it will display a message about the successful verification.

4.In a web browser, enter the https://cddirector.io/cdd/saml/metadata URL to download the Automic Continuous Delivery Director metadata. Save the metadata on your machine.

SafeNet Trusted Access Setup

After completing the first step of configuring SafeNet Trusted Access in Automic Continuous Delivery Director, the second step is to activate the Automic Continuous Delivery Director application in SafeNet Trusted Access by performing the following steps:

1.In the Applications pane, the Automic Continuous Delivery Director application you added earlier is in the inactive state by default. To configure and activate this application, click the application (for example, Automic Continuous Delivery Director) and proceed to the next step.

2.Under STA Setup, click Upload Automic Continuous Delivery Director Metadata.

3.On the Metadata upload window, click Browse to search and select the Automic Continuous Delivery Director metadata that you downloaded earlier in step 4 of Automic Continuous Delivery Director Setup.

Under Account Details, the service provider metadata information is displayed.

4.Under User Portal Settings, in the SERVICE LOGIN URL field, enter the application login URL (for example, https://cddirector.io/cdd).

5.Click Save Configuration to save the details and activate the Automic Continuous Delivery Director application in SafeNet Trusted Access.

Verify Authentication

Using STA Console

Navigate to the Automic Continuous Delivery Director login URL, https://cddirector.io/cdd/sign-in.jsp, enter the Email Address with the verified domain name (for example, <username>@safenet.com), and click Next.

You will be redirected to your SafeNet Trusted Access sign-in page. Enter your primary directory login information, approve the two-factor authentication, and you should be redirected to the Automic Continuous Delivery Director dashboard after authentication.

Using STA User Portal

Navigate to the User Portal URL to log in to the STA User Portal dashboard. On the dashboard, you will see a list of applications to which you have access. Click the Automic Continuous Delivery Director application icon, enter the Email Address with the verified domain name (for example, <username>@safenet.com), and click Next. You should be successfully logged in to the Automic Continuous Delivery Director application after authentication.
